The Health Working Group of the Gaia-X Spain hub aims to give visibility to the potential of health data spaces as an ecosystem to generate opportunities from data sharing. Data Spaces are a key element of the European Data Strategy that will boost innovation and the data economy, especially in strategic economic sectors of public interest, including health. These ecosystems provide a specific framework that establishes the architecture, infrastructures and governance model necessary for the secure exchange and use of health data, which can benefit patients when it comes to fully exercising their rights over their information; health professionals, facilitating clinical decision-making; to health providers, increasing the efficiency of their services; researchers, accessing high-quality data for innovation; and to the Public Administrations, insofar as it will allow evidence-based policies to be developed and improve the efficiency and management of health systems.
In this day, they will delve into understanding what a data space is and what role Gaia-X plays in a project of data sharing and value creation for the participating entities. They will present a model for the development of use cases that respond to challenges in the health sector, and lay the groundwork for the next steps within the Gaia-X Health WG.
This working group is co-led by the Barcelona Supercomputing Center, also coordinator of IMPaCT-Data, and the conference will feature the contribution “Data sharing for the improvement of health” by Carlos Tellería from the Biocomputing Unit of the Aragonese Institute of Health Sciences (IACS) and representative of TEDHAS in the GAIA-X Health Europe Working Group. also leaders of one of IMPaCT-Data’s work packages.
The Health Task Force is looking for challenges, the achievement of which requires the entity facing these challenges to have at its disposal a set of data that is not currently available. Those people and institutions interested in participating must do so by filling out this brief questionnaire for the identification of challenges.
