IMPaCT is the Infrastructure for Precision Medicine associated with Science and Technology, structured around three pillars: Cohort, Data, and Genomics.

IMPaCT’s mission is to establish and transfer the necessary knowledge to support and enable the effective implementation of Personalized Precision Medicine, which represents a paradigm shift and a new reality for the healthcare system. It allows for a more effective and safer personalized preventive, diagnostic, and therapeutic approach for each patient.

These IMPaCT axes, individually or collectively, are designed to serve the R&D&I system with a focus on Precision Medicine, to enhance the generation and transfer of high-quality knowledge within the National Health System, ensuring scientific and technical excellence, epistemic justice, and efficient use of available resources.

IMPaCT is coordinated and funded by the Carlos III Health Institute.

STRATEGIC PLAN

The IMPaCT Strategic Plan is structured around three strategic axes and two cross-cutting lines.

Three axes

Axis 1. Predictive Medicine (COHORT Axis)

Axis 2. Data Science (DATA Axis)

Axis 3. Genomic Medicine (GENOMICS Axis)

Two transversal lines

Ethics and Scientific Integrity
Internationalization

WHAT DO WE DO?

Axis 1. Predictive Medicine (COHORT Axis)

The IMPaCT Cohort Axis has developed and implemented the structure for recruiting the 200,000 participants who will be part of the prospective study. This structure consists of 50 nodes distributed across the entire national territory, including the 17 Autonomous Communities and the two Autonomous Cities… More info.

Axis 2. Data Science (DATA Axis)

The IMPaCT Data Axis has developed a comprehensive set of criteria, techniques, and best practices for collecting information from electronic health records, medical images, and genomic data, as well as for ensuring the interoperability of all this information… More info.

Axis 3. Genomic Medicine (GENOMICS Axis)

The IMPaCT Genomics Axis has developed a series of Standard Operating Procedures for the proper execution of genomic analyses and the management of the resulting data, as well as for standardizing and harmonizing the information and criteria used… More info.
