Various heads of the IMPaCT Cohort explained the progress of the project at a round table held at the SEMFYC<\/strong><\/b> (Spanish Society of Family and Community Medicine) Congress on 12 May.<\/p>\n\n

Marina Poll\u00e1n<\/strong><\/b>, coordinator of the IMPaCT Cohort, and those responsible for the project in the Community of Madrid and Aragon, Isabel del Cura<\/strong><\/b> and Luis Hij\u00f3s<\/strong><\/b>, participated in the table, offering an overview of the development of the pilot studies underway.<\/p>\n\n

The first intervention was that of Marina Poll\u00e1n, who highlighted the role of precision medicine for prevention and offered an overview of the IMPaCT Cohort<\/strong><\/b>, Poll\u00e1n presented the objectives of the project, its design, the working groups and the organization in 50 IMPaCT nodes that will be distributed throughout Spain.<\/p>\n\n

Subsequently, Isabel del Cura explained the development of the pilot study<\/strong><\/b> in the first two Autonomous Communities in which it was launched, Madrid and the Balearic Islands.\nDel Cura highlighted how participation and logistics work in urban nodes<\/strong><\/b>. <\/p>\n\n

Luis Hij\u00f3s, for his part, shared his experience as head of a rural node<\/strong><\/b>.\nOf the four pilot studies that have already been launched (Aragon, the Balearic Islands, Castilla-La Mancha and Madrid), only the one in Monz\u00f3n (Huesca) is a rural node.\nHij\u00f3s reviewed the difficulties posed by rurality and highlighted the value of also reaching these points with research. <\/p>\n\n

To respond to the territorial distribution of the Spanish population, 70% of the 50 IMPaCT nodes will be urban and 30% rural.<\/p>\n\n
